Mary Poppins has landed in Tempe!

I would have never known I was a huge fan of Marry Poppins until I saw the musical at ASU Gammage. I was fortunate enough to go on opening night last Thursday, which successfully was a sold out performance. The Broadway musical is amazing! I was tapping my feet to the music, singing along to “A Spoonful of Sugar”, and didn’t want the show to end! The music and dancing kept you on the edge of your seat just wanting to get up and join in on the fun! Another thing that really impressed me was how extravagant the set was; there was so much detail in the design and everything they had created for it. I was in jaw-dropping awe about how creative they were in planning all of Marry Poppin’s magic tricks. I’ll save the details for everyone else who hasn’t seen it but let’s just say I’m still puzzled as to how they pulled it off! There was such great atmosphere throughout the night with people of all ages including little ones really enjoying themselves. Marry Poppins had me leaving in a great mood with a young heart and magic in mind! This musical is a must see that will have you singing “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” on your way out the door!

The show ends February 28th so get your tickets now at ASU Gammage: (480) 965-3434 and www.asugammage.com.

I feel exactly the same. The movie was pleasant enough, but this show is over the top and perfect in every way. I absolutely loved it and could see it over and over. The special effects were really amazing. How did Bert tap dance up and down the walls and across the ceiling? There were a number of magical little moments tucked into different scenes that were truly phenominal theatrical sleights of hand.

I couldn’t agree more! This was an excellent musical and I found it so entertaining. Also another motivater for ASU students who haven’t seen this yet, if you show your ASU ID and arrive the day of a performance that isn’t sold out then there may be student rush tickets availabe. If so then you can get up to 50% off but you can only pay with cash if you do this. Just a helpful tip for any students :)
